This May, good mates Steve Williams & Tammy Lee will be partaking in a Cancer Council charity car rally called the Shitbox Rally 2017.
It is a major event to raise money the research of various cancer and their prevention or cure. The rally is very novel and lives up to its ‘wacky race’ reputation.
We will be leaving Adelaide on May 27th and heading up to Cairns via Alice Springs in cars worth less than $1,000! with the journey being over 3,800km..
The trip will see participants face the challenge of highly variable terrain, remote outback roads, changing climates and each other. The route will take us via both the Oodnadatta Track and the Plenty Highway and is sure to be a truly memorable experience for all involved.
More event details can be seen at http://www.shitboxrally.com.au
Both drivers Tammy & Steve are cancer survivors themselves, and have lost family members to the disease. It is extremely personal for both of them to raise funds for Cancer Research, with Tammy having a girlfriend currently going through the chemo treatment.
To show our support and achieve this goal we have entered ourselves into the event as ‘Froggle Box’’ as a tribute to them and as a way of giving to the Cancer Council to assist in their work of ultimately finding a cure for cancer.
Many of us have been affected by cancer in one way or another. Whether it be parents, family, close friends, people we know or ourselves that have battled or are battling cancer, this all too common and the horrid disease has touched us all. We not only want to raise awareness and money for the Cancer Council, but we want to be able to offer support and a friendly ear to those that have suffered or are suffering.
Unfortunately, cancer seems to be everywhere at the moment and we want to do our little bit. This event is officially endorsed and supported by the Cancer Council.
Our commitment to the rally is that we will raise a minimum of $25,000 aiming for much more, which we believe is easily achievable, due to the very generous donations offered by businesses, friends, family and colleagues through our team donation portal;
Even though $25,000 is a good start, we want to smash it!
By now, I think you may know what is coming - it would be greatly appreciated if you could help us out by donating or becoming a sponsor for this worthwhile cause.
Donations can be made via his page.
Should you wish to become a sponsor, the process is a little different, costs a minimum of $100 + GST and your logo will appear on our car as advertising.
Please let me know if this approach appeals to you and I will provide further details. All donations and sponsorship are tax deductible but please do not feel obliged to donate or sponsor.
