Jonathan and Craig are set to join a convoy of 200 teams in Australia’s largest independently run fundraiser for Cancer Council.
Heading off from Adelaide on 27 May 2017, 400 participants will take to the Australian outback in cars worth less than $1,000, all to raise much-needed funds for critical cancer research initiatives.
The 2017 Shitbox Rally will tackle an arduous 3,800km, 7-day adventure from Adelaide to Cairns. Over 1,600km of the trek will be on dirt roads including the infamous Oodnadatta Track and Plenty Highway. Team Inside Out will need to complete an additional 1,000km from Hobart to Adelaide just to reach the start line.
For this arduous journey, Team Inside Out have a 25-year-old Mitsubishi Galant GSR with a healthy 250,000km on the odometer. In its day, this was the tricked-out height of Japanese automotive excellence, but now the list of what doesn’t work is long, and will no doubt grow on the rally. Electronically controlled suspension, air-conditioning, central locking, electric aerial, rear wash/wiper and demister – all dead before the rally starts.
Jonathan and Craig both have their own personal reasons for competing in the Shitbox Rally and are committed to raising funds for the Cancer Council’s vital research programs. Your support, however big or small is much appreciated.
Alternative corporate sponsorship opportunities are available with car branding so please contact Jonathan or Craig if this form of support suits you.
Thanks again for visiting and happy travels.
